Norm developed incisive investigative, interviewing, report
writing and trial assistance skills during this career. He
examined extensive financial records, financial statements and
conducted numerous interviews of sophisticated witnesses to
determine the facts. The records were often contained fraudulent
information or incomplete facts about the transactions that
occurred. Witnesses were often involved with the frauds and
uncooperative. He provided invaluable assistance to Department
of Justice attorneys in trying difficult cases.
Upon retirement from the Treasury in 1999, Norm formed Williams
Financial Investigations, LLC, (WFI), an investigative and
consulting firm in Lexington specializing in financial
investigations. As the principal in WFI, Norm has drawn upon the
skills he developed as a Special Agent and has been extremely
successful in representing corporate, legal and individual
clients. WFI's operating successes have encompassed identifying
concealed assets, recovering embezzled funds, interviewing
challenging witnesses and obtaining significant information
through high-tech Internet inquiries. WFI's largest case
involved fraud of more than $100 million.
WFI has provided superior and confidential assistance to
attorneys representing clients in a multitude of settings. We
have written many comprehensive investigative reports,
succinctly presenting findings in understandable language. We
have provided prompt onsite client assistance, both nationally
and internationally.
In specialized areas, WFI utilizes the services of competent
experts with whom it maintains working relationships. These
include computer, video, surveillance, handwriting, document
analysis and polygraph services.
Norm Williams also served as a brigade commander, division
personnel officer and battalion commander in the U.S. Army
Reserve. He achieved the rank of colonel and is a graduate of
the U.S. Army War College.
